Hi everyone. Click edit at the top of the page to edit this page. Suggestions to improve 1.3
- Have the icon change when it is over a hyperlinked image (eg in the Flags of the World Add-on) - SpaceChicken
- New toolbar harder to get around than the OSX because the icons on the side don't expand with the main icon - they just expand one by one. [Thread here].
- The country/ regional border style and colour to be selectable.
- For WW to remember to open on the same spot & detail level where I closed it. Great though that it remembers some things like Lat & Long now.
- Some view on what actually is in the cache, like a layer showing the various levels already there.
- I'd like to see a possibility to mark an area and download all available data. Like you'd be able to click and drag on a part of a continent or country and say " go fetch everything you have on this". In general, more control of the download, something like a "force download" button. (This guy really wants to kill the servers! - TheBean)
- It seems the algorithm used to determine which images to download is great if you are not trying to look at anything specific. However, if you want to look at a specific town, or a certain peak, there is no way to indicate that. It can be frustrating watching the program download away, but not download the specific information you are looking for. Perhaps the algorithm could be modified to give a greater importance to the area you click on to center the image. Maybe it could have 2 levels of download priority over surrounding areas.
- More downlaod info, perhaps a server status image? [Thread here]
- Make bookmarks work like they do in web browsers. You would spin the globe to a certain spot, zoom in, bank and then say "Save this combined location/altitude/bank as a bookmark named X." The actual position saved would be the position of the crosshairs. Then we wouldn't be constrained by having to save bookmarks for locations in the name database. Also there would be a bookmarks menu (not hidden in PlaceFinder) so you could show off WW really easily.
- Motion momentum : it works now with speed (2 dimensions) and rotation in heading. It would be great to extend it to zoom motion and to tilt and bank rotations.
- Planet axis unlocked : the movement id higher than the mouse deplacement : why ? It would be better if it were as in locked mode, i.e. if you click on a point at the surface and drag it with the mouse, the same point remains under the mouse. I understand that it will be true only for a small latitude or longitude change (under 10� or so) but that is the case most of the time (when altitude is not too high)
- Mode indication : I did not see any indication (other than inside the View menu, which is not visible in normal use) of which modes are selected (motion momentum, point to go, planet axis lock, gravity, bank). It would be good to have it in the toolbar, with a clickable selection/unselection button for each. Also shortkeys for the new modes could be useful.
- Move Modis-pics beneath Placenames.. would be great to be able to spot the right areas even under a Modis-pic.
- Make something like: File -> Proxy Settings...It does not work with the proxy set on Internet Options all the time :(
- This is a known issue. Proxies work, but authenticating proxies don't, so far.
- add the possibility to use a TextureUrl tag instead of a TextureFilePath (for the icons for example) so that the icon can be modified depending on what the underlying webserver will return.
