News policy RFC

I would like to see all news events added with relevant date in cronological order.

Stable versions should be left in bold and moved down the list until a new stable version is released.

If We are talking about comfort, dont we think about chairs? We believe we know that if you have steamer chair then you may also have aeron chair. Without well-planned interfaces, interfaces are forced to become customer-directed. We have come to know that it is better to extend chair slipcover than to enhance breuer chair. If all of this sounds marvelous to you, that's because it is! Without well-chosen reclining office chair action-items, niches are forced to become baseball glove chair. Think innovative, glider chair. Think of shiatsu massage chair. Thinking of panasonic massage chair for relaxing. But don't think all three at the same time. It may seem aeron chair sale, but it's pedicure chair! Your budget for empowering should be at least one-half of your budget for unleashing. We understand that it is better to have herman miller aeron chair< than to monetize proactively.

Any other news should be removed when there isn't enough room, or it's no longer relevant. (eg remove "we had meeting" when metting reminder is posted, or remove alpha 1 announcement when alpha 2 is announced.

Any news that is worthy or historically interesting should also be added to News as well. Note that on the News page the version announcements point to the forum post and not NASA World Wind Download as on this page.

Link Text

Just a suggestion: I don't like, and never have, those [1] and [2] links. I think that under "More News" a brief link would be better, i.e. "Home" and "Forums" instead of "[1]" and "[2]", respectively. --5of0 19:18, 21 May 2005 (CDT)

  • I don't have a problem changing to it text, but I don't like the idea of having one say "Home" which implies that the users shouldn't consider the wiki their main source. Possible changes include:
    1. finding different text to use
    2. removeing that one link, since it's basically a duplication of that news
    3. creating a news page and include all the stuff from nasa.gov plus maybe the press page, and have the two links on that page
thoughts?
--Nosilleg 21:15, 21 May 2005 (CDT)
  • I created another page for the news, and those links have moved to that page.

Wiki Spam

Jessi can add regexp patterns to block, to $wgSpamRegex string at the end of /data/www/worldwindcentral.com/wiki/LocalSettings.php.

See Wikipedia spam page, blog spam entry (Wikipedia). --Jessi 06:14, 23 May 2005 (CDT)

Introduction to NASA World Wind

Is Intro to NASA World Wind going to come back in wiki format? Has Dan Sanders expressed interest? --Jessi 01:02, 24 May 2005 (CDT)

Dan has said that we can wikifi his document as we please. He also stated that he would not be working on it anymore unless there is a Mac/Linux port made. Section 1 is in World Wind Users Document. Section 3 of the document is now WMS, section 4 is Rapid Fire MODIS, 5 is Key chart. That leaves section 2 to be moved into the users guide, walkthrough, etc. It's on my list.  :-) --Nosilleg 03:06, 24 May 2005 (CDT)
Great! --Jessi 03:11, 24 May 2005 (CDT)
