World Wind allows any user to zoom from outer space into any place on Earth. You can find information on where to download World Wind at NASA World Wind Download.

[edit] Mouse Commands

Left Mouse Button = Hold this button down and move the mouse to rotate the earth to the right or left, top or bottom.

Right Mouse Button = Hold and drag your mouse to tilt the earth to see the 3D views of an area that has SRTM data. You will not really notice this function till you zoom in closer to a point on the earth.

Both Mouse Buttons = Zoom in and out of the Earth.

Scroll Wheel = Use this to zoom in and out of the Earth.

You can use keyboard commands to navigate around the World in World Wind. You can access a chart of common key commands from from the Help->Keyboard Chart menu item.

File

Earth – Switches the current world to the Earth.

Moon – Switches the current world to the Moon.

Save Screenshot - Saves a screenshot of your current World Wind view.

Exit – Exits World Wind.

Copy Coordinates - Copies the current World Wind Uri to the clipboard.

Paste Coordinates - Changes view to the World Wind Uri settings in the clipboard.

Find Place - Loads the Place Finder tool.

Refresh View - Clears all visible tiles for all currently selected layers.

View (Some options available from the Toolbar)

Toolbar – Toggles the toolbar.

Layer Manager – Toggles the Layer Manager.

Show Lat/Lon Lines – Toggles the Latitude and Longitude grid.

Show Planet Axis – Toggles the planet axis.

Show Cross Hairs – Toggles the targeting cross hairs in center of the view.

Show Position – Toggles the position information in the top right of the screen.

Motion Momentum – When enabled drag moving will cause the view to move indefinitely.
